The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been named as one of the nation's top five zoos by the Zagat Survey—and it shows. On an annual basis, more than 1.2 million people enter the zoo to view the many exhibits, animals, and special events that it offers. Boasting 75 acres and a history that extends back to its opening days in 1875, the non-for-profit zoo has gained both national and international recognition.

With its self-appointed mission to “conserving nature,” the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is home to approximately 3,000 species of flora, and over 500 animal species. In fact, visitors of the zoo have a chance to see a number of species in exhibits that mimic their natural habits. Areas like Gorilla World, Monkey Island, Tiger Canyon, Flamingo Cove, Wings of the World, Manatee Springs, and the Reptile House, allow visitors to get up close and personal with some of their favorite animals.

Don't forget that the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden also features beautiful gardens and flowers. This spring alone, the Cincinnati Zoo will be hosting “Tulip-Mania” as it ushers in the spring with more than 80,000 tulips. Free concerts will also be hosted in the garden in honor of the occasion.
